Step One
Party of Five
- Place pot on large burner, on high.
- Cover bottom of pot with oil.
- Drop 5 kernels in, cover, and shake.
- Wait for five pops.

- Turn the burner off.
- Cover bottom of pot with popcorn.
- For kettle corn, cover popcorn with 1/4 cup of sugar.
- Replace lid and give it a shake.
- Count to 30. Really. Slowly.
- Ready a large bowl next to the stove.
Step Three
The Big Bang Theory
- Turn the burner on high.
- Shake vigorously until popping starts.
- Keep shaking until popping slows.
- Remove from heat and pour into bowl.
- Season to taste, toss with hands.
